Venezuelan Stefania Fernandez crowned Miss Universe 2009

Another Miss Venezuela Announced Winner of Miss Universe Beauty Title . Miss Venezuela bagged the Miss Universe title again when Stefania Fernandez was named winner of the 2009 Miss Universe beauty pageant held at Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.

Fernandez, 18, became the 58th winner of the title which was telecast live on Sunday Night from the imperial ballroom of the Atlantis Resort. She was crowned by the reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, also of Venezuela.

The other five finalists were Miss Kosovo Marigona Dragusha, Miss Dominican Republic Ada de la Cruz, Miss Australia Rachael Finch and Miss Puerto Rico Mayra Matos.

Miss USA, North Carolina's Kristen Dalton, was included in the top 10 finalists vying for the Miss Universe crown but failed to make it to the top five of the pageant.

"I think this is the most beautiful group of women I've ever seen," pageant co-owner Donald Trump told reporters. "In the old days, you got what you got. Now, Trump picks them. It makes a big difference."

The televised event included musical performances by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowl. Hosts of the night were Billy Bush, co-anchor of "Access Hollywood," and Claudia Jordan, former Miss Rhode Island USA who has appeared on several TV shows. Judges include actor Dean Cain and supermodel Valeria Mazza.
